Also about the procedure and the unexpected time taken.

Just fitted a new CPU Cooler Fan.

Before fitting it in

The old one was very noisy, and I think it didn’t work very well with the BIOS fan speed control. It was rotating at 3,600 plus rpms.

This is what the old system looked like.

Very noisy fan

I went out and got this ASUS V72 CPU Cooler. Looks radical, at least from my point of view. I just wanted to replace the stock Intel cooler.

The next few pics show the various stages like cleaning the old adhesive off the cpu, attaching the plastic cooler base to the rear of the main board, fastening the cooler unit on the cpu. fitting the whole board back and connecting all the wires and cables. The stuff not shown is cleaning the main board, fans and chassis, and all that extra stuff that took me so much time.

A little project that I had going to use screencast software to build help or information presentations.

Hey I spent this evening testing this screencast recording software.

Initially, I had some difficulty due to lack of the lack of RAM. It now works fine rendering 1 min tracks. I am currently using 2GB of RAM on my workstation.

I might have to upgrade the mainboard and add in new RAM for it to render 5 min tracks.

The backing track on this test presentation is a 2002 recording of a jam session with BaBa, Kicha, Mr C. and me. Recorded the audio at our computer workstation using a ProTools interface box, a collection of cool kit and a keyboard. Mixed down in the digital domain.

It’s amazing what a real vacumm tube mic-pre can do to smoothen out all the edges in the recording before it get’s digitized.

Awarded myself with this Corsair Dominator.

I bought this from ThePotterHouse Local Online Store. I placed the order today and it was delivered to my home in the evening.

Sounds very cool right!

Found myself quite pleased with this package, and the Nice DHX patent Heatsink Ram, that came with Memory Cooler Fan.

Spec.

TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF

Memory = 2x 2 GB Memory Ram with DHX Heatsink

SPD Timing = 5-5-5-15-2T 1066MHZ PC8500 2.1V EPP / 5-5-5-18 2T 800MHZ PC6400 1.8V JEDEC

Immediately went to install ram and memory cooler fan, Unfortunately the cooler fan can’t be installed, reason being, my big V8 Cooler Master CPU Heatsink has blocked half of the space of my memory slots. So anyway, I’ll install to my Lean RIG.

Hi everyone, this time I’m posting from a command-line console. I’m using the text based browser lynx. I find it useful to when I need to refer to internet documents while at the server console. These machines have no graphical-desktop. There is a command-line CD player too. Very nice! It’s back to work for me. Have a nice day!
